Many people use image maps to create a "navigation bar" that integrates icons for each page on their Web site into one cohesive image map.

Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer allow you to choose between two different methods for implementing image maps.

Nowadays, all your image maps should be done using the latest method, which is called a client-side image map.

We'll look at both types in this unit, and explore the differences between them.
