This
is a line to test your feeding and mechanics with because all of the
major show-quality breeders use this same bloodline, and we all take
turns winning with it. It is known as the SAP Purple, so named for its
origin in a Shubel, Allen, and Parrish cross several years ago. This
is one of the few fish that is so good that genetic improvements are
rare indeed. The matching caudal and dorsal is definitely purple with
a striking iridescence. They are large in body size and sport very large
fins. This strain is prolific and easy to raise. If you win with them
on the bench, you know you've got your mechanics right -- because this
is one strain that puts the breeder on trial -- and yes -- Ted's used
it to take first place.
