Eudora Lite is the most popular email client on the internet. The newest version is 3.01 which features "clickable URLs" (When you click on a WWW address in your email, Eudora automatically loads that page in your browser.) and message sorting. If you want the newest version, you can get it from Qualcomm.

Eudora Pro is the commercial version which offers additional enhancements such as spell checker and "personalities". You can buy the Pro version at any computer store or from their web site.

For setup instructions, select the Eudora Lite version you are using.

Eudora 1.5.2. Set up

• Find and Double click Eudora 152 Icon, then get into Eudora Setting Window from Special Bar.
• In Getting Started, Type your POP account ([email protected]) in POP account.
• Type in your Real Name
• Choose Personal Information on the left hand side
• Type in your return address: [email protected]
• Choose Host on the left hand side and Type our smtp server: user.yourdomain.net in SMTP

• Find and Double click Eudora 154 Icon, then get into Eudora Options Window from Tools Bar.

• How to setup Eudora Light/Pro for two or more people to use on the same Windows PC? Can each user have their own settings and preferences?

• Windows 3.1x users: To allow multiple users to use Eudora on the same PC, make a separate mail directory and create a separate program manager icon for each user. The directories can be named whatever you like and placed anywhere, including floppies or network volumes. Place a copy of the Eudora.ini in each user's directory.
• To tell Eudora which directory to use, specify that directory on the command line of the Program Item properties dialog box as shown in the examples below:
• c:\eudora\eudora.exe c:\user1

  c:\eudora\eudora.exe c:\user2
  
  Then in the working directory field, set the path to that user's directory

  c:\user1\

  c:\user2\
  
  Then each user will have his or her own location for mailboxes and user settings.

• Windows 95 users:
• Create a folder named whatever name you want the new mailbox to be known as in the same directory as the Existing Eudora.
• Copy ONLY the eudora.exe file from the old Eudora into the new folder you just created. You now have two full versions of Eudora in your computer.
• Rename the eudora you just created to something else. You can name it whatever you like.
• Now execute the new eudora.exe file and it will start the 2nd Eudora.
• Now make a shortcut to the new Eudora and configure Eudora with the new settings for the extra mailbox.

• Make a duplicate of the Eudora Folder you found in the System Folder and place it in the System Folder.
• Trash everything in the duplicate Eudora Folder except the Eudora Settings.
• Rename the Eudora Settings in the duplicate Eudora Folder to the new mailbox name.
• You now have two different settings files. By double-clicking on either of the files you start Eudora with the appropriate settings. You can also create an alias for each settings file and put them in with the Eudora icon to avoid going all the way into the Sytsem Folder to start Eudora.
