MISS PERMIAN BASIN FAIR & EXPOSITION will receive a $2,000.00 educational scholarship.
The first runner-up will receive a $1,5000.00 scholarship.
The second runner-up will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship.
The third runner-up will receive a $500.00 scholarship.
Scholarship funds can be used for registration fees and books, and will be administered by the Permian Basin Fair & Exposition Scholarship Board. Winners must maintain a B average in scholastics in order to participate in the pageant and receive scholarship funds.

  1. A contestant must be a female between the ages of 17 and 20, presently be a resident of the Permian Basin, or attending a school in the Permian Basin. She must be a resident of the United States.
  2. A contestant must maintain a B average to enter the pageant.
  3. A contestant must be single and never have been married, had a marriage annulled, had a divorce, or had a child.
  4. Contestants must submit two 3x5 pictures (pictures will be returned after the pageant.)
  5. Contestants must submit an entry fee of $40.00.

Judging criteria: Contestants will be judged on personality, coordination, poise, and scholastic achievement.
Judge’s qualifications: Judges will be community leaders and media or entertainment personalities.
Deadline for all entries is August 14, 1998. Orientation and practice – Saturday, August 22, 1998.
