Thank you for looking me up. I hope you like what you see.
These pages are mainly graphics, so loading might be a
little slow. Please be patient.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sean Carney, and I currently
live in the Rio Grande Valley on the tip of Texas. I've been a carver for quite a number
of years, and usually carve in the round with whatever is native to the area I'm in. I lean
strongly towards the sculptural style of woodcarving because I think it shows off the beauty of
the grain better. I've
been all over these United States (I'm an ex-navy submariner), so you'll see a lot of different
types of wood on these pages. Lately it's been mostly Mesquite and/or Ebony, but there are
a few Hawaiian natives here, as well as some types I've picked up while visiting up north.
The galleries are
arranged chronologically, so when you step into any gallery, the first "thumbnail"
you'll see was one of my first works of that type. Hopefully it'll show some improvement in
the carvings as time progresses.
The newest carvings on the sight are in the galleries that have a
neon border. As I carve new ones they'll be added.
People sometimes ask if I sell any of my carvings or take commissions.
I do both, but you'll have to contact me for more info. I'm trying to stay away from making
this site feel "commercial"; I just want to show off the beauty of the wood.
On to the carvings!
So if you like, please step this way..................
