1. Caprok.Net will provide you with very good Internet service as long as you abide by the rules on this page. If you break any of these rules, we might shut off your account and maybe even call the cops on you. If you use our service, then these rules apply to you.
2. We can change the rules of this policy whenever we want to for any reason. We can also shut down a service if it makes our system go berzerk!!!.
3. This is your account. Don’t let anyone else use it. If anyone else wants to use it, tell them how to get their own account. We will then be very grateful to you for sending us the extra business and give you a credit you can use toward paying your own account.
4. Again, this is your account. Don’t give or sell it to anyone. That'’s what we’re here for.Your login names and passwords are a secret between you and Caprok.Net. Don't tell anyone our secret.
5. You can use your Caprok.Net account from any number of machines. However, you cannot log in from two or more machines at the same time. That would be cheating. Bad
6. You can stay on line as long as you like and can dial in as many times as you like, but you can’t stay logged on forever. People pay a lot more than $19.95 a month for that kind of service. We have put in place a program that will disconnect you if you are inactive on the system for more than 20 minutes. This way, if you forget to log off and go shopping for three hours, you won't be tying up one of the lines. You shouldn’t try to fake-out our time-out thingy. That is not allowed. We know that human body is not capable of sustaining a conscious state for more than 110 hours in a row. Believe me, we've tried. Most people have trouble staying awake for more than 24 hours. Therefore, if your login record indicates that you have been logged on to the system for more than 24 hours, we'll call you to make sure you'’re OK.
7. If you try to hack or mess up our system, we are going to cancel your account, call the cops on you, and make the rest of your Internet life (wherever you may go) as miserable as we possibly can. Then we'll call all the other ISP's in the state and tell them to watch out for you too.
9. Downloading all the news messages using an NNTP emulator so you can sell news service to other people is not allowed. Bad Bad Bad
10. No smut is allowed on your website. The U.S. Government does not want you to know about anything...uh er...that might offend you. If the FBI catches you sending xxx stuff to little kids, you'll spend the rest of your life breaking big rocks into little rocks. This is Bad
11.Other illegal stuff is NOT allowed too. Don’t use E-Mail to tell people yo'u’re going to kill them. They might not like that and call us to complain. Then we have to get involved and call the cops on you. Websites that contain information such as : bomb making instructions or software hacks are illegal and are not allowed on our servers. Please don't take graphics from other peoples sites and put them on your own without permission. That is stealing and against copyright laws. You might get sued by the owner and he may call the cops on you.
12. Don'’t try to make your e-mail seem like it’s coming from China, The President, or your next door neighbor...well, unless you are in China, are the president, or are your next door neig...er...you know what we mean. If you need to send a large file to someone,, please use FTP and not the mail server. We do not limit the size of incoming or outgoing mail attachments but files bigger than 1 meg may fill up your recipients mailbox. This is like getting mailbombed. He may take serious offense.
13. Other companies on the Internet have acceptable use policies as well. If you log on to a server, it’s your job to find out what those policies are and to abide by them.
14. “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” So, when on the Internet, do what most other Internet users do. Don'’t Spam or flame people, don’t threaten people, do not send people 100 meg files, do not mail bomb people, etc. People who do this will eventually cause us to deactivate their accounts.
15. You get 2 mailbox's with an individual account. You can get more, but you have to pay for them. They're $5.00 each to set them up.
16. Each account gets 1 megabyte (1,000,000 bytes) of space on our server for storing data for WWW, ftp, and e-mail. If you put more than that on our server, you have to pay extra for that at $10 per month per Megabyte..
17. You cannot let outside parties ftp anonymously into your home directory.
18. We realize that many people are new to computers. We understand that. But, please, please, please, we beg you, please have a working understanding of File Manager or Windows Explorer before you call the tech support line. Our techs do not have the time to teach people how to use their computers over the phone. We have FREE classes for that and we give you coffee and soft drinks while your here.
19. If you have trouble connecting, we’ll walk on broken glass to help get you up and running. However, we do have our limitations. There is no way we can learn and use every Internet application on the market. That would be like asking a Toyota engine mechanic to explain how to put together a Ford transmission, over the phone, with no manual. Once you have connected, you can get additional help by e-mailing support..
20. You can use your 1 MB of web space commercially or for personal use. But you can't post a thousand messages to a newsgroup to advertise it.. More likely than not, the people who frequent those groups will get very upset and bombard your mailbox with so much useless junk, you'’ll never see a legitimate piece of mail again.
21. You have to pay us on time. If you don'’t, we’ll go broke and have to fold and you won'’t be able to get access through us anymore.
(This last paragraph is a summary of all of the above with lots of legal words in it to keep the lawyers happy, but you are required to read it anyway in order to use an account with us..)
I understand and agree that all payments made to Caprock Internet solutions, are non-transferable and non-refundable. I understand that prorating is computed only on the first month of service. I understand that all service fees are subject to change without notice. I agree to use this service only for lawful purposes and I agree to use the Internet within compliance of all state and federal regulations, including all copyright and trademark laws and regulations governing data ownership. I agree to indemnify Caprock Internet solutions, against liability for any and all use of my account. I acknowledge and agree that Caprock Internet solutions, exercises no control over the content of the materials which may be accessed through Caprock Internet solutions, or the Internet and that certain materials accessed may be offensive and may include adult materials, themes and information. I acknowledge and agree that I am solely responsible for any information and materials retrieved or viewed by any person, adult or child, who accesses the Internet through my account with Caprock Internet solutions, I hereby release and discharge Caprock Internet solutions, and its employees, managers, members, agents, officers, directors, insurers, and assigns from any and all causes of action which I may have arising from the information or materials which I access or obtain by using Caprock Internet solutions, to access or retrieve such information, services or materials from the Internet including any type of virus which might damage any software, hardware or any data stored on any computer from which I am accessing the Internet through my account with Caprock Internet solutions, Caprock Internet solutions, reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. Caprock Internet solutions, reserves the right to terminate service to any subscriber without notice for any activity deemed inappropriate. Caprock Internet solutions, STRONGLY advises all parents to supervise the materials and information their children access through the Internet. Furthermore, Caprock Internet solutions, neither recommends nor evaluates ANY site on the Internet for content suitable to you or to your child's needs.
