Notes:
Every newspaper contains a classifieds section, in this section is located the employment information. Companies are required by law to post available job listings in print. Legislation is in the process of being passed to allow the use of the internet to count as a written posting of their job openings.
While our research has discovered a 100% increase over the past 5 years of job listings in the newspapers, we believe this is a result of the booming economy.
Benefits: the newspaper allows for a quick visual reference to the availability of the local job market.
Limitations: newspaper does not have the capacity nor the resources to list openings outside of its immediate area. Ads that are in the newspaper are also limited in the ability to list in-depth requirements, benefits, and company information, they also tend to be out of date and not cost effective.
Magazines hold the same pros and cons as newspapers, but cover outside the local area.
Professional Journals tend to be more technical and require greater requirements for job positions that are listed, but they also tend to pay more money.
News letters have about the same rating as newspapers and magazines.
